Meet Our Dental Team

Cynthia Sellers, Practice Adminstrator

Education: Graduated from Harlingen High School and the University of Texas with a degree in secondary-level English and a minored in both Spanish and Reading. Cynthia taught high school English at Los Fresnos High School before becoming a Practice Administrator.

Cynthia has over 15 years experience working as a Practice Administrator and is also a Registered Dental Assistant. Cynthia is also a published author, having completed her first manuscript for the American Dental Assistant Association. In addition, she is a certified Texas Hospitality Instructor. Working with local hotels, restaurants, and various local businesses in teaching excellent customer service skills to their employees is what Cynthia loves to do.

Loves Dentistry Because:  “I love this profession because we’re surrounded by some of the most generous and loving people that I’ve ever known!  In addition, dentists (and staff) work hard at attaining perfection in all that they do, everyday.  I’m honored to be a part of this profession.”

Hobbies:  cooking, working-out, & traveling with my husband

Family:  My loving husband Gregg, and 4 kids:  Noah (and wife Ashley), Ben, Rebecca, & Dustin (Dustin is currently serving in the U.S. Marine Corps).

Carol Gunnels, Office Adminstrator

Education: Graduated from Hanna High School. Carol has over 25 years experience in dentistry, and can perform any position in the dental office, from the front desk to dental assisting.  100% cross-trained! Graduate of Leadership Laguna Madre, class VI. Many patients comment on what a great, personable experience they had while at our office.  We attribute much of that to Carol’s 5-Star Customer Service skills.

Irma Martinez, RDH

Education: Graduated with honors from Hanna High School. Irma’s grade point average ranked 10 out of 587 students! 
Irma graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Science from Texas State Technical College, graduated from Hygiene School, and received the “Golden Scaler Award”, in addition to being named “Top Student.” Wow!

Hobbies:  Enjoy singing in church choir, sewing, and “organizing everything.”

“I grew up in Mexico until age 8 – then lived in Indiana till age 15.  I have lived in Brownsville ever since. I have a wonderful husband (elementary PE teacher/coach), 4 healthy & beautifully talented children and 10 siblings.  My mother is 77 years old and still very active and a great seamstress.”

Neena Villarreal, RDH

Education:  Graduate of Port Isabel High School. Immediately after graduating, Neena began training as a medical assistant at Ross Technical College. 
Neena is new to dentistry and is currently in the process of acquiring her “Registered Dental Assistant’s” Certification.

Loves Dentistry because:

Hobbies:  I have four children: Kaylyn, Imari, Tavian, and Vanessa.  My favorite pass-time with my kids is playing sports (all kinds) outdoors.   I love to listen to books on tape for my own personal relaxation. 

Monika Segueda, RDH

Education: Graduated with honors from Harlingen High School South.  Monika was also a Tech Prep Scholar and graduated top 5% of her class! 
Monika graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Science from Texas State Technical College and graduated from Hygiene School with a degree in Dental Hygiene.

Lori Melina, RDA

Education: Graduated from Port Isabel High School and attended University of Texas. Certification: Registered Dental Assistant.   Lori is certified in Radiology, Nitrous Oxide Monitoring, CPR, OSHA, and Jurisprudence.

Krystle Padron, RDA

Education: Graduated “with honors” from Los Fresnos High School. Krystle is currently enrolled in the Dental Hygiene Program at TSTC Harlingen.
Certification: Registered Dental Assistant Krystle is certified in Radiology, Nitrous Oxide Monitoring, CPR, OSHA, Jurisprudence.

Ericka Silva, RDA

Education: Graduated from Port Isabel High School then attended San Antonio College of Medicine and Dentistry. Graduated with a degree as “Registered Dental Assistant.” In addition, Ericka is Nitrous Oxide Certified.

Anabel Guillen, Scheduling Coordinator

Education: Graduated from Port Isabel High School. Attended the University of Texas & received a degree in Medical Assisting.

Education: Graduate of Los Fresnos High School and Vanguard Institute of Technology / Medical Assistant.
